As the CEO/President of Nature Health International and the Founder/Director of Biosil Technology Africa and the East African Centre for IPT (Insulin Potentiated Therapy) & Anti-Aging Medicine, Dr. Njuguna is at the forefront of medical innovation in the region.
His pioneering work extends to the field of medical cannabis research, where he has been instrumental in advancing the discourse and decriminalization of medical cannabis and hemp across several African countries including Lesotho, South Africa, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Malawi. Dr. Njuguna's efforts are not only contributing to changing legislation but also paving the way for new treatments that offer hope to countless patients suffering from various conditions.
In his role at the African Psychedelics Research Foundation in Kenya, Dr. Njuguna aims to integrate the therapeutic potentials of cannabis with other psychedelic research to develop holistic treatments that are culturally relevant and scientifically robust. Steve D. Diouf brings a rich blend of biochemical engineering expertise and innovative agricultural practices to the African Psychedelics Research Foundation’s new branch in Malawi. With a Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering from the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Montpellier and currently a PhD applicant in Forestry at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Steve is at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge science with sustainable agricultural development.
In Malawi, Steve co-founded Nubiyan Nurseries, where he leads operations and strategy focusing on syntropic myco-agroforestry and the production of tissue-cultured plant and fungi spores. This work is essential for developing sustainable food, medicinal, and cosmetic products that are locally sourced and environmentally friendly. His role involves extensive research and development, ensuring that new methodologies are both innovative and aligned with local ecological and cultural practices.
As a member of the APR in Malawi, Steve will use his expertise to facilitate dialogue and communication between the research community and local stakeholders. His background in project management and environmental management systems equips him to bridge the gap between advanced biochemical research and practical, community-focused solutions. Steve’s work is driven by a commitment to sustainable development and a passion for utilizing science to improve lives in meaningful ways. Steve’s multifaceted expertise and leadership in biochemical engineering and sustainable agriculture are invaluable to the APR’s mission in Malawi.
